The work created here highlights my interests in the bison figure related to folklore. I strive to capture an evocative expression that will capture the viewer's interest and give insight into the sculptural piece. I am completely invested in telling a story and seek out strength and beauty in an older being and am driven to portray that.
Art plays a huge role in my daily life with continued study of the figure in sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and oil painting. I find inspiration in all forms of art from ancient Greek and Asian art, German expressionism, the Bay Area movement, and all current art around the globe. I am fascinated by people and animals I see and meet, their faces and gestures give me inspiration to create my sculptures. Going to galleries and museums, is what I enjoy almost as much as creating art. Art is a huge part of my daily life.
I presently live in Missoula with my husband and giant Airedale, Nora, and multitude of relatives. I have lived in the Bay Area, New York, Toronto, and Tokyo.
